We often find ourselves getting stuck in unhealthy patterns or using strategies that no longer serve us. Change is hard, and you don’t have to figure it out alone. Rachel is passionate about helping others to feel more equipped to handle life’s challenges, whether that is learning healthy coping skills, or gaining new insight into patterns that can lead to positive change and healing.
Rachel welcomes those coming to therapy for the first time who might feel hesitant or unsure of what to expect, as well as those who are interested in restarting care for other reasons. Rachel integrates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and other methods to help you meet your personal goals. Rachel’s hope is to provide a space where you feel cared for and understood so that your work together can form meaningful connections and empower you to build a life worth living.
Rachel works with adult individuals 18+ and specializes in anxiety, depression, and relationship issues. Rachel has a BA in Psychology and earned her Master of Counseling from MidAmerica Nazarene University with a focus in Clinical Mental Health. Rachel has several years of experience working in psychiatric inpatient and intensive outpatient settings serving people battling mental health and substance use challenges. Rachel has also provided therapy in university settings for college and graduate students, as well as through private practice.
Rachel is a homebody at heart, so when she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and cat at home, playing the piano, listening to her favorite Spotify playlists, and reading historical fiction and fantasy. Rachel also enjoys trying new foods, recipes, and local restaurants.
